Sunny Side Up

No matter how much I try to do something else, I am periodically drawn back to painting flowers! I love how they can be so easily abstracted and yet still be fully comprehended as flowers. This style of painting is very meditative for me as I decide, one by one, what colors to paint each shape and reflecting upon the joy that flowers, real or imagined, always bring to a room.  Hence the title I gave this painting, because a bouquet is always “sunny side up.”

Selected to be part of the Annual International Representational Exhibition (AIRE) by the Federation of Canadian Artists.
